[ Star Wars AudioBooks ]

Star Wars Audio Books
Why read a book when you can listen to one? Audio adaptations of Star Wars stories have existed since Brian Daley's radio dramatisation of Star Wars was first broadcast on US National Public Radio in 1981. Since then many major stories, particularly novels, have been adapted for audio either as a dramatisation that continues in the same vein as Daley's work story such as Dark Empire and Dark Lords of the Sith; or as an audio recording of an abridged reading of a novel (sometimes with added sound effects and background music).

[ Star Wars e-Books ]

Star Wars e-Books
February 2001 saw the publication of the first Star Wars novella in electronic form, the e-book Darth Maul: Saboteur by James Luceno. Such e-book novellas would be later included in the paperback release of the main story's novel. The release of a full Star Wars novel in electronic form did not occur until June 2003, however this was before the availability of dedicated e-book readers such as the amazonKindle or the Sony Reader. Since 2008, availability has improved with all nine Legacy of the Force novels, plus the ongoing Fate of the Jedi novels being available electronically.
