Jedi Knight Anakin
Skywalker and his Padawan Ahsoka Tano have attended a
Rancor fight on Coruscant in an attempt to discover a
traitor who has stolen valuable Republic weapons data.
Aware that the fight is highly illegal, the pair do not
wish to draw attention to themselves and so assume
inconspicuous positions where Anakin can monitor the
crowds. It doesn't take the Jedi Knight long to locate
the traitor Raice Liq of the Banking Clan receiving a
datacard and both Jedi descend upon the traitor's
location.
However, Raice spots the pair as they make their way
through the crowded stands and alerts both the crowd and
organisers to the Jedi's presence. Now required to force
their way through a hostile audience, the Jedi get
separated and just as Anakin is about to apprehend Raice,
Ahsoka is pushed from the stands onto the arena's floor
and the awaiting jaws of two angry rancors.
With ignited lightsaber Ahsoka leaps through the air
over the back of the first rancor but is caught mid-air
in the claws of the second. With his Padawan looking to
become a snack for the rancors, Anakin allows Raice to
escape and leaps from the stands onto the arena floor.
However Raice, seizing his chance for escape, is
distracted by the Jedi's predicament and runs headlong
into a service droid, knocking himself unconscious.
As the excited crowd cheer on the rancors, Anakin
charges the beasts and quickly
discovers that their thick hides are too strong to be
cut by his lightsaber. With Ahsoka fighting for her very
life, Anakin tries a new tactic and using the Force to
exert his will he attempts to calm the minds of the
rancors. The animals are very susceptible to Anakin's
strong will and release his Padawan. They also allow the
two Jedi to ride on their backs and are led towards the
audience stands and Raice's last known position.
Very quickly the stunned crowd begin to flee the arena
when Anakin uses the Force to trip the force barrier
protecting them from the arena pit. As Raice regains
conscious he awakens to find himself hemmed in by the
two rancors and surrenders to the two Jedi. |
