[The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance] Roundup of Fatal Alliance reviews:
Released last week, Fatal Alliance by Sean Williams, is the first tie-in novel to Bioware and LucasArts upcoming MMORPG video game The Old Republic, and here is a selection of reviews available on the internet:
  • BlogSystemIsGo.com[External site - opens in a new window/tab] - review by T. J.: "One thing I love about this book is it's not the standard Jedi vs. Sith scenario we've all seen done a million times. Instead you see them competing for the same goal but not in direct conflict, giving the reader a chance to view both sides during this cold war period".
    Read T.J.'s full review here
[External site - opens in a new window/tab].
  • Graeme's Fantasy Book Review - review by Graeme Florry: "has everything that you’d expect to find in a Star Wars novel, the only problem I found was that this meant there was nothing that made the story stand out in it’s own right [...] The end result is almost indistinguishable from other Star Wars novels but every so often you can see that Williams is chafing at the bit and wanting to show us what he can really do".
    Read Graeme's full review here
[External site - opens in a new window/tab].
  • TheForce.net - review by Aldrick Tolliver: "I was somewhat skeptical on beginning Fatal Alliance, with its setting in a brand new era and a bevy of unfamiliar characters—an unusual combination for Star Wars novels. I quickly discovered, however, that Williams had risen to the challenge of capturing the feel of the still-in-development-game while still providing a well-constructed adventure novel with interesting characters".
    Read Aldrick's full review here
[External site - opens in a new window/tab].
  • NJOE.com - review by Obi John: "While I won’t say it is my favorite novel, I will say that Williams definitely redeemed himself for The Force Unleashed in my eyes. I would strongly recommend this novel to any fan of Star Wars, and would say it is a must read for anyone who is planning on playing the game or otherwise immersing themselves in the exciting era that is just beginning to be explored".
